LEARN TO READ AND UNDERSTAND YOUR BIBLE
Teacher: Paul Spurlock
Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018 9AM- 12PM
 Register Here!
  • Do you ever feel inadequate when attempting to understand the Bible?
  • Have you ever listened to teachers of the Bible and wondered if they were interpreting it accurately?
  • Does “spiritual feeding” from the Bible seem like something you’ll never feel confident doing for yourself?
  • Is the Bible for you like a license agreement for a computer program that, when you try to read it you just click “accept” in faith because the agreement is hopelessly too complex to understand?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, then this workshop is for you!

In this workshop, you’ll be equipped to approach the Bible with much improved confidence!  From gospels, history, epistles, psalms, proverbs, poetry and even apocalyptic types of writings, we’ll show you how to identify the different types of literature in the Bible and how to interpret those different types of Scripture.

Why is hermeneutics important?

  • First, to eliminate anxiety many feel when reading the Bible or hearing it taught (e.g., wondering “Is this what it really means; Is what I’m hearing true?”).

  • Second, God wants us to be able to properly “feed” ourselves and others from the Word (Heb. 5:12-6:1).

  • Third, we do not want to fall prey to someone or some group who may lead us astray from truth by twisting the Bible’s teachings. The apostle Paul warns us about being “...children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men...” (Eph. 4:14).

Guarantee: no matter where you are in your ability to read & understand the Bible, at the completion of this workshop, you will have grown significantly in your ability to interpret the Bible—and, best of all—how to go from interpretation to life-application!
