Ministry Volunteers
We have some awesome volunteers! They come every week just to hang out with you! We thought you might want to know a little bit more about them.

Abbey Harris
Abbey is new to the Santa Cruz area, having moved here from Clovis. This is her first year working with jr high. Abbey currently attends Cabrillo College. After getting her degree from Cabrillo, Abbey wants to go to the police academy to become a police officer. She works at Twin Lakes Christian School in the after school program. She loves the energy and craziness of jr highers and feels blessed to be able to spend time with them. Abbey enjoys playing volleyball, going to the beach, reading, and hanging out with friends. She is excited for this year!
Brittney Harris
Brittney is one of the 8th grade girls bible study leaders. This is her third year helping out with us in jr high group. Brittney likes hanging out with jr highers while being able to share God's word and love with them. During the week Brittney, works at Twin Lakes Christian School as a classroom aide and after school program advisor. She is going to school to gain her degree in liberal studies to teach elementary school. Brittney loves singing, reading, enjoying God's creation, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 John 4:7-11
Cole Morely
Cole has been helping out with Wildside for 5 years! Cole likes hanging out with jr highers and sharing God's word and love with them. He plays the drums in the worship band on Tuesday nights. Currently, Cole is going to school to earn a degree in Fire Technology (he wants to become a fire fighter). Cole loves snowboarding, wakeboarding, playing hockey,enjoying God's creation, and spending time with family and friends. His favorite Bible verse is Romans 6:23
Danny Burger
Danny Burger is 17 and a senior at Soquel High School. This is his 2nd year volunteering with the jr high group. Danny loves sports, particularly water polo, surfing, and snowboarding. He loves being active in the church serving in anyway he can. He grew up in the Jr. High group and loves that he is able to know serve and love jr high students. Danny is really excited to meet all the new kids who start coming to Jr. High group this year!
David Goss
David is one of our youngest leaders! He was a student in the Jr High ministry throughout his entire 3 years in middle school. As a 7th grader, he was invited to join Matt Hurley in leading worship for the jr high on Sunday mornings. When Matt left for college, David took his place, leading worship for jr high even though he was still in jr high. Last spring, David and his friend Luke, volunteered to lead worship for Wildside. When Luke moved out of town, David became the solo worship leader. He shows up every Tuesday night to play to a room of crazy jr highers. He organizes the band and sets up all the sound equipment. David also came with us as this summer to Kidder Creek as our worship leaders. David plays for the high school band on Wednesday nights. He loves Jesus and he loves music.
Deanna Dawson
Deanna Dawson is a senior at Soquel High and she LOVES Jesus. Deanna has been going to Jr. High group at TLC since 6th grade and is now one of the 8th grade Bible Study leaders. She is a violinist and a classical singer. In the future, Deanna hopes to major in music at a music college. She enjoys sports, including skiing, which makes her one of the few skiers (as opposed to snowboarders) in youth ministry. Deanna loves staying busy, and spending time in nature. She also loves being present in Jr. Highers lives and being crazy with them as they journey through middle school.
Emily Smith
Emily has been volunteering with the jr high for the past two years now. She loves Jesus more than anything. Emily enjoys the energy and joy of our jr high students. They reminder her of how great God's love is on a weekly. Emily works and is a full-time student at Cabrillo College. She enjoys singing, playing guitar, piano, photography and spending time with her friends and her family and with her Lord. One of her favorite passages in the Bible is Psalm 91
Gar Ness
Gar Ness is eighteen years old and likes long walks on the beach (lol). Seriously, Gar loves being outside in God’s creation doing just about anything. This is my third year working with the Jr High group at Twin Lakes and he is hoping this will be the best yet! Gar is “STOKED!” to be leading the 6th grade boys Bible Study this year.
Harleigh Anderson
Harleigh is 19 and in her second year at Cabrillo. She's been helping out with TLC Jr High for about 5 years and loves it! She enjoys helping out the girls in the way she wanted to be helped at that age.
Jasmine Anderson

Jason Clemente
Jason Clemente is relatively new to the Santa Cruz area. He began helping out with TLC Junior High last spring and has signed on for another year. In his own words, Jason is "a pretty awesome guy." He's full of energy and loves to do crazy stuff like BMX riding and surfing. Jason is straight forward and easy going. Also, Jason just got baptized at Beach Baptisms this September.
Jeremy White
Jeremy White is one of the 8th grade boys Bible Study leaders. He has been involved in the Twin Lakes Junior High ministry for over five years now, about as long as he’s been a Christian. He keeps coming back because he loves the energy of our students. Also, Jeremy believes that junior high is a very formative age. He feels God has lead him to get involved and stay involved in junior high ministry.

Kendra Puente
Kendralyn has been volunteering with jr high for six years! Basically, she never left jr high. Kendralyn likes hanging out with jr highers while being able to share God's word and love with them. During the week Kendralyn , works at Marinis, is a full time student at Cabrillo College and also plays water polo. She hopes to teach 5th grade. Kendralyn loves hockey, water polo, going to the lake, enjoying God's creation, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11
Laura Wellington
Laura Wellington is a student and a barista at Starbucks in Capitola. She loves working with jr high students because of their great energy and willingness to learn more about God. Laura loves ultimate frisbee, music, Brittney and Abbey Harris, and long walks on the beach!

Nicole Hernandez
Nicole is in her senior year at Valley Christian High School. She is a varsity cheerleader and a swimmer. She is also on the leadership team at Valley. Nicole loves being a jr high leader at Wildside. She figures that helping with jr high is a good start on the road to one day becoming a high school Bible teacher.
Rob Bell
Rob has been helping with the Twin Lakes jr high group since 2006. Rob attends Cabrillo College in Aptos where he is majoring in communications. Ultimately, Rob aspires to be a youth pastor. Rob loves the excitement that jr high youth bring and the questions full of wonder that they ask. Rob likes to sing, listen to music, write, play sports, go to the beach, hang with friends, and really whatever else sounds fun. A fun fact about Rob is that he is 6'9". He is looking forward to exploring God's Word with the youth this year and playing some crazy games with them.

Zack Wright
Zack is now on his second year with junior high. He works at Mission Springs, but loves cutting down trees with Jesus in his pocket. He enjoys long walks through the woods with his goat Coco. When not working or walking his goat, you can find Zack fixing old cars and working in youth ministry - Young Life, Wyld Life as well as here at Twin Lakes.
