Emergency Plan

This page is to inform the staff what to do during an emergency. It will include a who to call, where to go, what to do, when is it safe, and why we are doing it.

WHY:
Why do we have an emergency plan? It will help will to inform the staff as to what they should do. If the staff knows what to do, then it makes for a safe evacuation.

WHO:
Who do we call. The order of the people to call are Tom, John, and Nate If there is a fire or something of that nature then 911 is first, and then call Tom. We will post a list of phone numbers so that everyone will be able to find them.
If someone passes out during the service or during an evacuation then call 911, but make sure you are right next to the person to see what is happening with them. This just helps them to get right information to the emergency crews.

WHAT:
What should I do during an emergency? The most important thing is that we keep the members, visitors, and anyone who is not staff safe. Once we feel that there are no more people that need to get out then everyone to the safe area.
For earthquakes duck and cover. Stay in that position until it is over, then make sure it is safe to exit, once it is safe then go to the safe area quickly.
If you hear a fire alarm keep everyone organized and follow the emergency route to the safe area.

WHERE:
WHere do we go? The only answer it the softball field. This is what all the diagrams show. We don't want people going to the parking lot, or any grass area that is near buildings or trees. The only problem is we don't have any lights on the ball field. We are hoping to get some emergency lights out there. A campus wide emergency map. Once you make it out to the softball field then look around and see if anyone is missing.

WHEN:
When is it safe to come back or leave? Tom or someone from the custodial staff will keep everyone informed to when it is ok to leave. If it is just a false alarm we will sound an air horn, then it is safe for everyone to go back in. If a real disaster happens then we will direct everyone to their cars and leave once is is safe.
