Surf City Jobs provides job search skills training and support in a practical faith-based environment. What distinguishes Surf City Jobs from other job search resources is faith-based and provides ongoing support needed to find that next job. When there are a sufficient number of people interested, Surf City Jobs services also include small support type groups. Team members, who make up Success Teams, meet for two hours on a weekly basis, to provide support and motivation needed to find that next job in a challenging job market.  Job seekers find new approaches they can use in their job search, rather than repeat the techniques that do not work for them. Surf City Jobs provides that accountability to keep trying through some difficult market conditions and the ongoing support to discover what job search methods work best for each individual.

Experts state that one of the most important ways to find work is through networking. To help you network with opening in the job market you may not see on line or in the paper, TLC has created the following job opening list.  Refer to it often as a new place to network for jobs.

Surf City Jobs is sponsored by Twin Lakes Church. As a faith-based group, we welcome job seekers that are not Twin Lakes Church members. There is no cost to attend.  Contact Joy Hallof at surfcityjobs@tlc.org or phone 831-818-2385 for more information.

Another faith-based group is called "Career Action Network" and is sponsored by Menlo Park Presbyterian Church who also has Success Teams and sponsors large job support information group meetings in Mt. View twice a month.  Contact them at www.careeractions.org.  The cost to join their network is only $15 a quarter.

Ken Winters from Gateway Church in Scotts Valley hold his HIREWIRE meeting the second Tuesday of every month at the Gateway Church from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Ken has a strong recruiting background and shares new information with the participants each month. No cost.
