STORM RELIEF INFO:
TLC is here to help our community recover from the recent storms.
Financial Help: If you need help financially because of storm related expenses, please fill out this form: https://twinlakeschurch.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/1178/responses/new
After completing the form, someone from the church staff will be in touch with you.
Volunteering: To volunteer right now and help in various ways (clean up, chop and chip wood, etc.), we are directing people to the Santa Cruz Volunteer Center who are organizing volunteers. Click on this link: https://scvolunteercenter.org/
We are also organizing a way that volunteers can walk alongside a family for 4 to 6 weeks as they get back on their feet. You might do physical clean up work, take runs to the dump, or help them contact FEMA and other organizations that can help them with temporary housing or financial help, and so forth. If you are interested in helping in this way, please fill out this form: https://twinlakeschurch.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/1199/responses/new
If you want to help clean up specifically the beaches and river areas, Coastal Watershed Council is organizing volunteers and will need some this coming weekend. Join our next cleanup on Saturday, January 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Our goal is to clean 3 miles of the riverbank from the river mouth to Sycamore Grove. Will you lend a hand? Sign Up to Volunteer
Donations: To donate money to our disaster relief fund, click on the "donate button" below. These funds will help people in our community directly who have been affected by these storms. Thank you for your support!
At Twin Lakes Church we recognize that God calls us in Scripture to help those suffering from poverty and oppression.
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.” (Proverbs 19:17)
“If you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.” (Isaiah 58:10b)
Because emergencies by nature are unexpected and urgent, we have set aside a disaster relief fund so we can be prepared at all times to offer assistance when and where it is needed.
Our benevolence oversight team determines the amount and recipients of donations from this fund. Here are some of the ways TLC has helped others through this fund:
Ukrainian refugee assistance through World Venture in Poland
Afghan refugee assistance through World Venture
California fire evacuation assistance through on-site churches
Louisiana hurricane assistance through on-site churches
