SERVE THE BAY PROJECTS 2018

INCLUDING ONGOING SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Serve the Bay, our local outreach service projects to Santa Cruz County, is Saturday, October 20th.  Most projects will happen on this day, but there are some that are on other days or are ongoing throughout the year.  Sign-up to help with one or more of these opportunities at the tables in the lobby or by contacting the leader listed by each project below.

*Project Pajamas – NEW pajamas for kids in transitional housing.  Drop off NEW pajamas for infants through 18 years old boys and girls in the barrel provided in the lobby BEFORE Oct. 20th.  Help package and distribute pajamas on Oct. 20th at TLC at 9 AM.  Contact Ari at .  COMPLETED

*Aptos High School Teacher Appreciation Bags - donate needed items OR help fill gift bags to encourage the staff of Aptos High and to thank them for all they do.  We will assemble the bags on Sat. Oct. 20th at TLC at 9 AM.  All ages invited.  If you would like to donate the specific items we need, contact  . COMPLETED

*Help Provide Laundry Services for the Homeless - ONGOING opportunities through LoLo (mobile van with washers and dryers).  For more info or to volunteer contact Ron Powers at .

*Socks for the Homeless – drop off new socks in the barrel provided in the lobby by Oct. 20^th.  Contact Robin at  for more info.  COMPLETED

*Winter Shelter Meals for the Homeless – volunteer to help prepare and serve dinner during one of the weeks TLC is responsible to fill.  A total of 4 weeks (one in December, January, February and April).  If interested, sign up with .

*Watsonville Connect – Nov. 14^th – volunteers needed to walk clients around to various stations as well as specifics skills needed such as hair cutting, doctors, dentists, vets, etc.  Register to help at www.phc-santacruz.org or for more information.  SIGN UP NOW!

*Second Harvest Food Drive  - donate canned/packaged food or money to help feed the needy in our county by Nov. 19th.  There will be some bins in the lobby for food or make monetary donations through TLC office.  For more info contact . 

 *Monterey Bay Horsemanship and Therapeutic Center - help clean up the barns, weed, paint, and winterizing the center on Sat. Oct. 27th.  If interested, contact .

*Kindness Grants - if your home group has an "act of kindness" idea but no funds to pursue it, email  to apply for a small "kindness grant".  Specify the project and budget.  Apply by Oct. 31st assuming money is still left.
