READ: “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel” Isaiah 7:14

REFLECT: So now Israel knows what they are waiting for - and it’s specific! They are waiting for a virgin to give birth to a son. This son has a special name: Immanuel, which translated from Hebrew means “God with us”.

What is something you’re waiting for right now? Maybe it’s something fun, like Christmas or vacation. Or maybe it’s something more serious - a loved one to turn to Jesus or waiting for healing. No matter what you’re waiting for, the promise of Christmas is God is with us. Knowing that God is with you, even in the wait, can give you hope in the wait. He is not off in the distance waiting for you, he is with you as you wait.
